Who We Are

Therapy sessions are designed around the concept that the more engaged and motivated your child is, the more they will learn. In order for a child to acquire new skills in communication and play, they must be engaged.

I am a strong believer in being passionate about what you do. I am passionate about working with children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. I love being able to partner with families and see the impact that strategies and skills I teach make in both the child’s life and the family’s daily routine. I believe that every child with Autism has the ability to connect with their world if given the tools needed.

My previous work experience includes serving as the campus speech language pathologist at an elementary campus in Coppell Independent School District. I provided treatment and evaluation for children with a variety of communication disorders as well as serving on the district’s Autism Assessment Team. I most recently worked at the University of Texas at Dallas Callier Center for Communication Disorders as the Clinical Supervisor for the Early Communication Language and Social Skills (CLASS) Preschool Program for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. There I was able to train graduate students and provide early intervention for preschoolers with Autism. I have taught multiple continuing education courses for professionals and individuals in the community.

Why Holland?

In naming my practice, I wanted something that spoke to my goal of partnering with children and families and walking alongside them in both their struggles and successes. Years ago, a mother of a child that I worked with shared the poem “Welcome to Holland” with me. The poem describes planning for a trip to Italy only to arrive in Holland. Once in Holland, all of the guide books about Italy are irrelevant, so new guide books are needed for Holland. My goal as a speech pathologist is to be a guide to your family. I want to celebrate with you, learn with you, work through challenges with you, and see your child develop and grow.
