Individual Speech Therapy
Holland Speech & Consulting is a team of speech language pathologists who are passionate about working with families and love what we do. We specialize in early intervention and believe strongly in equipping and training families in intervention to support the best outcome. Therapy strategies used are based on current research methods and therapy sessions are designed around the concept that the more engaged and motivated your child is, the more they will learn. Activities and materials are chose based on your child’s developmental level and interests.
Communication and play goals are targeted in natural play routines. For example, take a child who has difficulty with pretend play, but loves music. Using zoo animals and play food, I would model feeding the animals while singing, “I like to eat, eat, eat, apples & bananas”. This integration of music first catches the child’s attention. The child is now able to both see and learn from the modeled pretend play and language I am using.
